Hello! My name is Christy and I am a 25-year-old law student. I will be entering my last year of law school come fall at the University of Iowa. My focus is mostly on taxation and non-profits.
I went to a small liberal arts college here in Iowa, Grinnell College, for my undergraduate degree in economics. I also have an interdisciplinary concentration Russian, Central and Eastern European Studies.
I studied abroad in Olomouc, Czech Republic while I was in college. I fell in love with the region and can't wait to return some day in the future.
My boyfriend's name is Matt, and he himself just graduated from law school. He looks really great in purple velvet:

I started baking in the summer of 2007, when I first lived on my own. I found that I liked baking much better than cooking, and that remains true today. My skills have improved greatly over the years, and I love to try new recipes and learn new things about baking.
In addition to baking, I also collect vintage housewares. I particularly like items from the 1950s and early 1960s. These show up on the blog usually at their time of acquisition or when they're actually getting used.
